Windows 8 Releases

Microsoft has announced the new version of their Windows Operating System ‘Windows 8’, will only be available in 3 flavours:

  • Windows 8
  • Windows 8 Pro
  • Windows RT

Their has been no comments on the meaning of the ‘RT’ name, however Microsoft have said the ‘RT’ version will incorporate touch screen versions of Microsoft Word, Excel, Powerpoint and OneNote.

The table below provides an overview of the functionality of each Windows version.
